Was talking to a guy at work
Today about these shysters
Apparently you have to give 3 months notice to cancel your membership, is that legally enforceable ?
He notified them in Nov, and cancelled his DD on 28th Feb 1 dat before the payment, they are now chasing him for payment !!!
They said the 3 months was only effective from when THEY processed it, surely that's wrong ?
He can't be responsible for their ineptness ?

It's legally enforceable if it is in the small print when you sign up. Which it obviously is but no cunt reads it.
David Lloyd is a fucking expensive place to be a member for what you get.

They are all cunts Leroy, i had exactly the same issue with LA Fatness... They were going to send a bailiff FFS!
Its all in the contract so best to check the small print

God I pay 250 euros a year for my gym and its in the classiest avenue in Brussels. OK it gets very crowded during the week evenings. Weekend's are empty.

David Lloyd gyms truely are a bunch of shysters. Did exactly the same to me when I cancelled. Treat their members like shit. Plenty of better and cheaper gyms about.

It doesnt cost £100. I was just saying dont assume companie wont take people to court for small amounts.
As for time, it takes no time. IF he contractually owes the money then he'll lose in court, then may face a costs order, alrhough it may be low due to it being small claims.
I'm just giving advice. Get him to check the contract. If he has adhered to the t&c's then he should just write to them to advise them of this.

You know it costs fuck all to apply for a judgement against someone dont you? I have around 500 odd out against people. Some as low as £100

Tell him to just fuck them off, they won't bother after a while for a months dough. I had the same with LA Fitness years ago, only thing is he probably won't be able to sign up with them again.
It's all about Puregym these days anyway.
